ProTaper Handlebars and Cockpit Components

ProTaper has been shaking up handlebar design since 1991, best known for pioneering tapered aluminium bars that ditch the traditional clamp-and-bar-end setup for a stronger, lighter design built specifically for motocross and off-road abuse.

Tapered bars generally flex differently to standard bars, giving a bit more give in a crash rather than bending or snapping outright — worth factoring in if you're upgrading from a standard bar setup, since you may also need a compatible clamp. Bend and height selection still matters just as much as with standard bars.
